Alumni
Association Welcome to the Alumni section of our website! The mission of the Alumni Association is to provide a forum for alumni to renew and strengthen bonds formed at The Epiphany School. A person’s elementary school years comprise the longest span of time spent in one educational environment. It can be anywhere from 8 years to 11 years depending on whether your stint here began with 1st grade or Nursery, Pre-K and Kindergarten. So much here remains the same; the education and values received are still top notch. Our graduates go on to attend (and are awarded scholarships to) the best high schools and colleges in the city and the country. Our school is housed in two buildings, with 553 students expected to matriculate in September this year. Many of our graduates are now parents here! Our Principal since 1978 remains Jim Hayes. Our Vice-Principals are Kate O’Connor McHugh, class of 1993 and Mary Jane Maher Higgins, class of 1980. Two of our current teachers are alums: Susan Ma-Tran, who was a student here through 1983, teaches Math to 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Cara Villano, class of 1988, teaches 4th grade. The current Chair of The Epiphany School Foundation Board of Trustees is Jim Capuano, class of 1973. His parents, siblings and two children are also graduates. Two of his children are current students attending 4th and 8th grades. (The Foundation was set up in 1999 as the fundraising arm of the school). Drew Doscher, class of 1983, recently joined the Foundation Board of Trustees and was also Principal for a Day in May 2009. Gil Santaliz, class of 1980, also served as Principal for a Day in February 2009. Both were very impressed with the current students and the improvements to both the upper and lower campus. We want to heighten visibility of our alumni as role models for our current students and other alumni, improve alumni communication and have fun! We are in the process of doing a real outreach to develop a very neglected alumni database. Communicate! In order to keep you notified of gatherings and reunions we need to know where you are and how to best reach you. Please contact us with your name (including maiden name), year of graduation, address and email address. We need VOLUNTEERS to help plan local gatherings by class or decade. We also are happy to help you coordinate a reunion for your class. Contact us! Betsy Gorski Francesca Ciofalo (Class of 1996) Director of Development Asst.
