From the Chair: Julie Carey

Dear Families and Friends,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, thank you for your continued support of the Epiphany School Foundation and its mission to educate the whole child—fostering academic excellence, strong character, deep faith, and a lasting sense of community responsibility—all grounded in our shared value-centered Catholic tradition.

The Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was created in 1999 to help keep tuition rates at an affordable level for all families while providing tuition assistance, enhanced programs, advanced technology, and professional development for faculty.

[I would like to mention some specific things here. What would be best / most accurate these days? Assistant teachers in Toddler Twos through 4th grade, reading specialist and specialized faculty in art, music, foreign language, and physical education? Are we still working with the NY Historical Society? Anything else?]

Epiphany students continue to excel academically, far surpassing city and regional averages. On the 2024 New York State tests, 90% of our students achieved proficiency in ELA (compared to 72% in the Manhattan region and 64% ADNY-wide), and 92% in Math (versus 78% and 69%, respectively).

With an average tuition rate of $12,100, Epiphany offers its families tremendous value when compared to other similar schools in the city where tuition is often over $60,000/year. Only 80% of the cost of educating every Epiphany student each year is covered by tuition, which amounts to a shortfall of over $2,500 per child.

We strive to have 100% of current families support the Annual Fund to help ensure our continued success. We are grateful for your participation, as it not only helps us reach our goal, but it can also enhance eligibility for certain grants and funding opportunities. Strong support reflects our community’s commitment to Epiphany’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Through your generosity, we are strengthening the vibrant, faith-filled community that makes Epiphany so special. Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Julie Carey

Chair, Board of Trustees

Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Highlights

The Epiphany School Foundation works hand in hand with the school community to uphold a mission of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and inclusivity. By bridging the gap between tuition and the true cost of education, the Foundation ensures access to exceptional resources and a nurturing environment. Through events and generous support, it fosters connection among families, alumni, and friends in service of Epiphany’s enduring values.

Doubling Down For Professional Development

Donor support for Professional Development has had a profound and lasting impact on The Epiphany School community. Through the generosity of our donors, the combined Special Appeals at the 2024 and 2025 Spring Benefits, earmarked specifically for Professional Development funding, raised over $200,000, allowing faculty and administration to participate in numerous workshops, conferences, and graduate-level courses in education. These opportunities empowered our educators to deepen their knowledge, stay current with best practices, and thoughtfully refine their instructional approaches—all with the goal of better serving our students.

Strengthening the Educational Experience

This investment in professional growth directly strengthens the educational experience at Epiphany. As teachers hone their craft, they bring renewed creativity, confidence, and effectiveness into the classroom, fostering engaging learning environments where students can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. Donor support not only affirms our educators but also reinforces our shared commitment to excellence, ensuring that our beloved students benefit from inspired teaching and strong leadership now and for years to come.

All in the (Epiphany) Family

The Epiphany School is deeply enriched by the many faculty and staff members who are proud alumni and former parents and who have returned to serve as teachers, administrators, and Trustees. Their decision to come back to Epiphany speaks powerfully to the lasting impact of the education they received and the meaningful relationships they formed here. These individuals carry with them firsthand knowledge of Epiphany’s values, traditions, and mission, creating a strong sense of continuity that benefits the entire school community.

Giving Back

Rooted in gratitude and enduring connection, their service is a testament to the close-knit community that defines The Epiphany School. The bonds formed during their time as students or parents have remained in their hearts and minds, inspiring a lifelong commitment to give back. Their presence not only strengthens our leadership and classrooms but also serves as a living example to current students and families of the profound and lasting influence of an Epiphany education.

The Epiphany School Foundation

The Epiphany School Foundation was established in 1999 to raise funds for the School. The tax-exempt, charitable foundation was created to enhance the educational experience and the faculty’s teaching environment. These goals have been achieved over the years by funding programs that the School cannot cover through tuition alone. The Foundation remains dedicated to promoting growth and innovation through these programs.
