From the Chair: Julie Carey

Dear Families and Friends,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, thank you for your support of the Epiphany School Foundation. Your generosity—of time, talent, and resources—makes it possible for us to carry forward a tradition of excellence that has shaped generations of students, and we are grateful.

Epiphany has always been more than a school. It is a community rooted in faith, academic rigor, and a shared belief in the transformative power of education. Continuous improvement will always be necessary to maintain our tradition of excellence, and we cannot do any of this without you. As the need grows each year, so does our determination. Together, we ensure that Epiphany remains rigorous, inspiring, and affordable for every student.

One area where your impact has been especially meaningful is professional development for faculty and staff (i.e. over $200,000 from the special appeals at our 2024 and 2025 Spring Benefits!). This investment strengthens our classrooms and ensures that our students benefit from inspired, forward-thinking teaching grounded in excellence—and it’s paying off in measurable ways.  Epiphany’s already outstanding state test scores have risen even further and continue to be well above Manhattan and Archdiocesan averages.

Epiphany is enriched by the many alumni and parents who have returned to serve as teachers, administrators, and Trustees. Their love of Epiphany is a living testament to the enduring bonds and lasting devotion our extraordinary community inspires.

Thank you to all who have volunteered at our events throughout the year. These gatherings are not only essential to sustaining Epiphany financially; they are moments that bring our community together and reflect the spirit that makes Epiphany so special.

Thank you again for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Julie Carey

Chair, Board of Trustees

Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Highlights

The Epiphany School Foundation works hand in hand with the school community to uphold a mission of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and inclusivity. By bridging the gap between tuition and the true cost of education, the Foundation ensures access to exceptional resources and a nurturing environment. Through events and generous support, The Foundation fosters connection among families, alumni, and friends in service of Epiphany’s enduring values.

Doubling Down For Professional Development

Donor support for Professional Development has had a profound and lasting impact on The Epiphany School community. Through the generosity of our donors and the combined Special Appeals at the 2024 and 2025 Spring Benefits (earmarked specifically for Professional Development funding), The Foundation raised over $200,000, allowing faculty and administration to participate in numerous workshops, conferences, and grade-level courses in education. These opportunities empowered our educators to deepen their knowledge, stay current with best practices, and thoughtfully refine their instructional approaches—all with the goal of better serving our students.

Strengthening the Educational Experience

This investment in professional development directly strengthens the educational experience at Epiphany. As teachers hone their craft, they bring renewed creativity, confidence, and effectiveness into the classroom, fostering engaging learning environments where students can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. Donor support not only affirms our educators but also reinforces our shared commitment to excellence, ensuring that our beloved students benefit from inspired teaching and strong leadership now and for years to come.

October 20, 2024 — Our 15th Annual Walk was a wonderful day for Epiphany. Father Austin celebrated a lovely mass for our community and set our students off on a charted course through our beautiful school neighborhood. Dozens of teachers joined in the fun to the delight of our children. A celebration followed including delicious lunch treats, provided by Mary O’s, and live music, performed by children’s folk singer and performer Laura Doherty.

  • 3. Spring Benefit

    $230,864

April 3, 2025 — Our 22nd Annual Spring Benefit embraced the theme of “Old New York” and brought it to life in spectacular fashion. Held at the historic 60 Pine, a venue that perfectly evokes the charm and grandeur of the city’s past, our parent community enjoyed an unforgettable evening featuring a lavish menu, cocktails, and both live and silent auctions.
A highlight of the night was our Special Appeal, which doubled down on last year’s commitment and was dedicated once again to Professional Development. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community, we raised $112,737—a powerful testament to how deeply Epiphany’s faculty and administration are valued and supported.

May 12, 2025 — Parents Agnes Teng and Michael Parniawski once again brought their warm enthusiasm and steady leadership to the 30th Annual Golf Outing, making this milestone year feel truly special. Celebrating three decades of community, tradition, and friendly competition, the event drew an energetic crowd and enjoyed perfect weather from start to finish. The day was filled with great play, easy camaraderie, and generous support through ticket sales, sponsorships, and lively participation in both the silent and live auctions. Reaching its 30th year is a remarkable achievement, and this year’s outing rose to the occasion—reminding us why this event remains one of Epiphany’s most cherished traditions.

All in the (Epiphany) Family

The Epiphany School is deeply enriched by the many faculty and staff members who are proud alumni and former parents and who have returned to serve as teachers, administrators, and Trustees. Their decision to come back to Epiphany speaks powerfully to the lasting impact of the education they received and the meaningful relationships they formed here. These individuals carry with them firsthand knowledge of Epiphany’s values, traditions, and mission, creating a strong sense of continuity that benefits the entire school community.

Giving Back

Rooted in gratitude and enduring connection, their service is a testament to the close-knit community that defines The Epiphany School. The bonds formed during their time as students or parents have remained in their hearts and minds, inspiring a lifelong commitment to give back. Their presence not only strengthens our leadership and classrooms but also serves as a living example to current students and families of the profound and lasting influence of an Epiphany education.

The Epiphany School Foundation

The Epiphany School Foundation was established in 1999 to raise funds for the School. The tax-exempt, charitable foundation was created to enhance the educational experience and the faculty’s teaching environment. These goals have been achieved over the years by funding programs that the School cannot cover through tuition alone. The Foundation remains dedicated to promoting growth and innovation through these programs.
